KARACHI: Today is the last date of submitting tax returns. The national treasury will suffer billions of rupees losses if the Federal Board of Revenue fails to achieve the said target.

The number of tax-payers has reduced to 0.5 million from 1.1 million. According to the FBR in 2009, 1.1 million tax-payers submitted their tax returns.  This figure was 0.53 million in 2013 and now in 2014 this figure could not increase from 0.5 million, despite extension in date.
