Peshawar Customs collects Rs 2.3 billion in Feb

PESHAWAR: The Model Custom Collectorate Peshawar has collected Rs 2.387 billion under head of duty/taxes during February, 2016 as compare to Rs 1.377 billion collected during the same period last year.

The Peshawar Customs collected Rs 541.55 million as customs duty against the previous year’s collection of Rs 468.18 million with difference of Rs 73.50 million, showing 15.7 percent growth.

Under the head of sale tax on import, it collected Rs 377.73 million against Rs 422.79 million collected during the last year with difference of Rs -45.07 million and witnessed 10.66 percent decline.

Under the head of sales tax levied as federal excise duty on palm oil, the collectorate collected Rs 164.22 million against Rs 167.21 million of last year with difference of Rs -2.99 million and witnessed 1.79 percent decline.

It collected Rs 44.73 million in the term of sale tax value addition on commercial importers against Rs 59.32 of the previous February with total differences Rs -10.05 million, while the difference in percentage was standing at -14.59%.

The collectorate under head of federal excise duty on import generated Rs 21.34 million against Rs 15.27 million of last year with the difference of Rs 6.07 million rupees, showing 39.75 percent growth.

In wake of withholding tax, it collected Rs 1238.22 in February, 2016 million against the previous year’s collection of Rs 1192.78 million with difference of Rs 45.44 million, showing 23.57 percent growth over last year.
