BROWNSVILLE: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers assigned at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge seized a load of alleged methamphetamine hidden within a grey 2012 Nissan Juke.
“I congratulate our CBP officers for their diligence and dedication which led to the seizure of these narcotics,” said Port Director Petra Horne, Brownsville Port of Entry.
Packages containing 103 pounds of methamphetamine seized by CBP officers at Brownsville Port of EntryThe seizure took place on Monday, Mar. 7, at the Brownsville and Matamoros International Bridge when CBP officers referred a 26-year-old male Mexican citizen driving a grey 2012 Nissan Juke for a secondary examination. With the help of non-intrusive technology, CBP officers discovered 23 packages of alleged methamphetamine weighing 103 pounds hidden within the vehicle. The methamphetamine has an estimated street value of $1,440,133.
CBP officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle, arrested the driver, and turned him over to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents for further investigation.
