Turkey to impart technical, vocational and skill trainings to Punjab youth

LAHORE: Turkey has announced to increase cooperation with the Punjab government in the spheres of technical, vocational education and skill training.

The announcement was made during a meeting between a high-level Turkish delegation of Small & Medium Enterprises Development Organisation and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The delegation, led KOSGEB President Recep Bicer, also unanimously agreed with the CM to evolve a future strategy for the promotion of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the province.

Talking to the delegation, Shahbaz said that all- out efforts would be made for producing skilled manpower, according to market needs. He said the Punjab government had fixed the target of making 2 million youth skilful during the next two- and-a-half years.

The CM noted that the promotion of SMEs was vital for strengthening the national economy. “The technical assistance by Turkey will be beneficial for preparing skilled manpower,” he hoped.

Recep Bicer, on the occasion, said that Pakistanis were their brethren and they would be happy to help them. He assured full cooperation to the Punjab government for the promotion of SMEs, technical, vocational education and skill training.
