FBR initiates action against ghost employees at RTO-III

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated disciplinary action against ghost employees at the Regional Tax Office III.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR had instructed the Large Taxpayers Unit LTU-I and all the Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to initiate stern action against those ghost employees.

Acting upon the orders, the RTO III has identified more than 35 ghost employees and disciplinary action has been initiated against them.

According to sources, the FBR would soon terminate all these employees after giving them a chance for justification.

The ghost employees who are drawing salaries from the budget without performing their duties included four inspectors, an assistant, four upper division clerks, a havaldar, nine sepoys, a notice server, a dispatch rider, four naib qasids and a sweeper.

The inspectors included Mohammad Sohail Ahmed, Ghulam Abbas, Nusrat Hussain Jafri and Irfanullah Faqih. And Syed Laiq Qadri (assistant).

The upper division clerks are Muhammad Anwar, Anwar Ahmed, Aijaz Ali Bhutto, Rais Anwar Kazmi while Hafiz Ahmed (havaldar).

Sepoys are Abdullah, Mohammad Mukaram, Muhammad Hussain, Pervez Iqbal, Muhammad Ramzan, Mohammad Rasheed, Mirza Imran Baig, Khalil Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Manzoor and Rashid Pervez.

While Akhtar Hussain (notice server), Nawaz Ali (dispatch rider), naib qasids Zaheer Qureshi, Jawaid Ali, Javed Ahmed and Imran Ahmed and sweeper Iqbal Masih.
