ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony held here Thursday reviewed the proposed Haj policy 2016 and recommended not to increase the rates of government Haj packages.
The committee meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Hafiz Abdul Kareem, MNA to discuss the Haj policy and arrangements for 2016. The committee recommended to abolish the 05% reserved quota for Haj in the new Haj policy.
The committee also recommended that the benefit of reduction in the oil prices be passed to the pilgrims in the shape of low air fares and provision of better facilities.
While that the new quota allocation to HGOs might be implemented from the next year.
MNAs Malik Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, Ms. Shahida Akhtar Ali, Syed Amir Ali Shah Jamote, Ms. Shagufta Jumani, Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan, Mr. Lal Chand Malhi, Ms. Kishwer Zehra, Pir Bux Junejo, Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub and Molvi Agha Muhammad attended the meeting.
