KARACHI: The export rebate, issued by the Pakistan Customs during the fiscal year 2014-15, surged by 3.93 per cent to Rs8.24 billion as compared to Rs7.93 billion it issued in 2013-14
According to the Year Book issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), a sum of Rs2.417 billion was issued to the textile sector during the last fiscal year, up 37 percent as against Rs1.764 billion paid in 2013-14. Rebate issued to leather sector during the period under review stood at Rs1.736 billion as compared to Rs1.698 billion in 2013-14, depicting an increase of 2.2 percent.
Carpet and handicraft received rebates, amounting to Rs112 million and sports goods industry received Rs348 million during 2014-15, while the surgical and cutlery sectors received Rs1.1 billion during 2014/15.
Other export sectors claimed rebate of Rs2.141 billion in the last fiscal year, which is 30.6 percent down as compared to Rs3.088 billion paid to other exporting sectors in 2013-14.
