Appraisement West Collector Uwais Jawwad warns latecomers of action

KARACHI: Collector Customs Collectorate Appraisement West Dr Uwais Jawwad Agha has issued an explanation memo to latecomer principal appraisers and appraisers.

According to sources, if the principal appraisers and appraisers fail to justify their position, a strict action would be initiated against them without any further notice.

Principal Appraisers Shayam Lal and Najam ul Hassan Jamali and Appraisers Zameer Akram, Sanaullah Abbasi and Abdul Aziz of Appraisement West were not present on  duty until 10am on March 8, 2016, sources added.

While taking strict note of non-observance of the office timings, Deputy Collector Establishment Mariam Mehdi Raja issued a letter to all these latecomers, seeking their justification. “It has been noticed with grave concern that you were not present on your duty till 10am on 8.3.2016,” the memo said.

The Collector Appraisement West has taken serious notice for non-observance of the office timing despite clear instructions in this regard,” according to a letter available with Customs Today.

“You are, therefore, called upon to explain your position within three days of receipt of this memo failing which disciplinary action under E&D Rules, 1973 shall be initiated without any further notice,” the letter added.
