Faisalabad ASO confiscates Toyota Premio car worth Rs 2.13m

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized a foreign origin Toyota Premio car bearing registration No KW-352 during a crackdown. The market value of the vehicle is Rs 2.13 million involving duty and taxes of Rs 1.48 million.

Sources told Customs Today that after receiving a tip-off regarding smuggling attempt, Customs Collector Dr Chaudhary Zulifqar formed a special ASO team comprising Azhar Hussain Jafri, Asif Hussain (inspector), Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Sher Ahmad, Muhammad Amin and Muhammad Yousaf (sepoys) and Riasat Hussain driver.

The ASO team raided near Sohrabwala and seized a non customs paid vehicle but no one came forward to claim the ownership of the vehicle. The authorities physically examined the vehicle and found nothing available in it except a copy of bogus registration book.

The ASO team submitted seizure report to the adjudication department for further legal process.
