NHA completes 11 highway projects in 2 years

ISLAMABAD: National Highway Authority (NHA) has completed eleven highway projects over one thousand kilometres length during past two years.

Talking to APP here Sunday an official source said that the present government was focussing on the development of international standard motorway and highways network in the country.

Giving details of the completed projects, he said that 58-kilometre Multan-Khanewal Motorway project inaugurated in November last year cost Rs 14 billion while 58 km Faisalabad-Gojra section of M-4 which cost Rs 10.3 billion was opened for traffic in March last year.

He said that 150km Qila Saifullah-Zhob section of Quetta-DI Khan Highway (N-50) has been completed which cost 8.3 billion. He said that 68 km Sukker-Jacababad section cost Rs 8.5 billion.

About Raikot-Khunjerab section of Karakoram Highway, he said that it has 384 km length and cost $ 490 million, while 64 km Wagam-Khajoori section of Qila Saifullah-Multan Highway (N-70) cost 13 billion. He said that Peshawar Northern bypass Package-I cost Rs 22 billion, while Babu Sar-Chilas Section has cost Rs 16 billion.

The NHA official said that Khushhal Garh bridge and its access roads have cost Rs 12 billion while earthquake memorial bridge in Muzaffarabad has cost Rs 15 billion. He said that 193 km Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab section of Rattodero-Gwadar Motorway he said it cost Rs 13 billion.
