SIALKOT: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered 100 cartons of banned mosquito coils from a vehicle during checking. The market value of the impounded items is Rs 0.7 million.
Source informed Customs Today that after receiving a tip-off regarding the smuggling attempt, the ASO team under the supervision of Customs Collector Sheikh Ikram intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No.RIS-2388 on GT Road which was going from Sialkot to Rawalpindi. The ASO team recovered 10 cartons of banned mosquito coils while searching the suspected vehicle.
The ASO team seized the vehicle and the contraband items and registered a case against the owner under Customs Law. Further investigations are underway in this regard.
