Faisalabad Customs seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 1.30m in March

FAISALABAD: Customs authorities of Faisalabad seized smuggled items worth Rs 1.30 million during first two weeks of March and registered two cases against accused persons.

Sources informed Customs Today that Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary formed different teams under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair to curb smuggling attempts in the region. The customs team who conducted raids and recovered smuggled items includes Superintendent Muhammad Javed Mehmood, Deputy Superintendent Sardar Muhammad,  Inspector Muhammad Safdar, Abdul Jabbar and Zulafqar Ali, Hafiz Naseer Ahmed, Muhammad Abdullah (sepoys) and Afzal Hussain (driver) .

Sources said that seized items includes foreign origin non-duty paid vehicles and other goods. Customs authorities forwarded the cases to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
