Customs Prosecution lodges 8 FIRs involving Rs 103.50m in seven months

LAHORE: The Customs Preventive Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) Department has lodged eight FIRs involving Rs 103.50 million from July 2015 to February 2016.

According to details, cases were registered upon the smuggling attempts of mobile phones on fake documents, foreign currency, gold jewellery, gold bars, used tyres, cigarettes, parachute, fabric polyester, fabric, used digital industrial sewing machines, new tyres, tuples and flaps.

The accused people include Sarfraz Ahmad, Shahbaz Ahmad, Rai Umer, Rizwan, Data Tyre House, Saif Ullah Naseer Ahmad, Noor Ali Asad Ullah, and Faisal.

The official sources told Customs Today that five cases out of eight are under investigation while three are under trial.
