Multan Customs attaches property of tax defaulter

MULTAN: The recovery branch of the Customs Collectorate has issued warrant of attachment of movable and immovable property of an alleged defaulter, Saqib Hussain, for non-payment of outstanding dues amounting to Rs 61,350.

According to details, the recovery branch of the Customs Collectorate has initiated proceedings on the request of Principal Appraiser Mehmood Khan Multan Dry Port, Saqib Hussain s/o Sabir Hussain is a resident of Jhumra Tehsil Kahar District Chakwal. The defaulter has imported goods through Multan Dry Port.

The Customs Collectorate has issued notice to the defaulters under sub-section (1) of section 202 of the Customs Act 1969. Earlier, the department had issued several notices to the defaulters for the payment of outstanding dues. Upon his failure, the department has finally decided to attach moveable and immovable property of the suspect by appointing an officer for the recovery of dues.
