Dar, ADB country director discuss future funding programme

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director Werner Liepach has called on Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and discussed the future funding programme of ADB, particularly for the infrastructure development.

Werner and Dar reviewed ADB’s future funding programme in Pakistan in detail, said a press release. The ADB country director officially invited the finance minister to the ADB’s annual meeting scheduled to be held in May this year.

He also informed the minister about the forthcoming visit to Pakistan of the ADB vice president in April. Dar appreciated ADB’s continued support to socio-economic development of Pakistan. He said that he was looking forward to his participate in the ADB’s annual meeting where he would exchange views with the bank’s senior leadership on funding for various projects in Pakistan. Senior officials of the Finance Division and Economic Affairs Division attended the meeting.
