Faisalabad adjudication serves notices on two alleged smugglers

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan has issued two show-cause notices to suspects allegedly involved in smuggling of tea and vehicle.

The additional collector served notice on Ayaz Hussain, who is allegedly involved in smuggling of Indian origin tea worth Rs 2.471 million by evading duty/taxes.

The Customs Adjudication issued notice to Muhammad Umar. The customs officials had recovered a non-duty paid Toyota car worth Rs 1.13 million from his possession.

It may be mentioned here that both cases were lodged by the Faisalabad Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO). The adjudication authority has directed the accused person to appear before the court on March 29, 2016.
