Central region collects over Rs 12.6 billion duty, taxes in February

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region collected over Rs 12.6 billion duty and taxes during the month of February 2016 with 17 percent growth over the last year’s Rs 10.8 billion, collected during the same month.

According to available data, the Lahore Appraisement collected Rs 5.363 billion during the corresponding month against Rs 4.609 billion collection of last year’s same month, showing 16 percent growth.

On the other hand, the Lahore Preventive collected Rs 2.541 billion in February against Rs 2.794 billion collection of the last year. The Multan Customs collected Rs 3.807 billion duty and taxes, reflecting a 27 percent growth over the previous year’s same month. Similarly, the Faisalabad Customs collected Rs 964 million duty and taxes during the period under review, registering 126 percent growth.
