Punjab Finance Dept establishes tax reform units at district level

SIALKOT: The Punjab Finance Department has set up tax returns reform unit on district level for tax collections from the government employees. Additional secretary of the Finance Department has issued a letter to commissioners of nine divisions and 38 district coordination officers as well as Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan. The Additional Secretary has mentioned in letter that the Punjab Finance Department has decided to recover tax from government employees, therefore, the tax reform unit have been set up at the district level.

The employees of the FBR will perform their duties in the units. According to the letter, the unit will assess whether the employees of police, education, building, excise and taxation,local government and community development, roads, agricultural, fisheries, health, local fund audit, food department are paying their taxes according to their income or not. The unit officials will check the details of all employees of the departments.
