The sources said that gas supply to the company’s consumers have considerably increased after addition of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its distribution system. They said uninterrupted gas supply is being ensured to compressed national gas (CNG) stations, gas-based power generation units, fertilizer plants and industrial sector.

The sources added that a summary has been sent to the quarters concerned to lift ban from issuance of gas connections for commercial purpose. Citing reason for moving the summary, they said it would help stop gas theft, which was being committed by restaurants, confectioneries, bakeries and small-scale industries mainly, and ease deployment of heavy manpower for the checking and raids.

Presently, the sources said, the SSGC had over 2.5 million consumers and the company was making all-out efforts to ensure provision of improved services to them.
