Nevada poker revenue increases 5% in Feb

CARSON CITY: Nevada poker rooms raked $8,975,000 in the month of February, which was a 5.44-percent increase compared to the same month a year ago, according to figures released Wednesday by Nevada gaming regulators.

The Silver State had 71 poker rooms with a combined 660 tables during the month. That was the same number of rooms and one fewer table than in January, when poker revenue was $9,503,000, a decline of 2.85 percent compared to January 2015.

February’s 5.44-percent year-over-year increase was the largest of its kind since January 2014, when $10,152,000 in revenue represented a 7.56-percent increase compared to January 2013.

Poker rooms in Nevada raked a little over $118 million in 2015, which was a 1.57-percent decline compared to 2014’s $119.9 million. Poker revenue was $123.9 million in 2013.

Nevada poker revenue includes online poker, which is estimated to be a $10 million a year market in the state. Nevada has two poker sites.
