Customs holds workshop to create awareness about tax, exports in businessmen

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Exports, Custom House and Port Mohammad Bin Qasim have jointly organized a workshop on Merger of Existing Tax Relief Regimes; Manufacturing Bonds and Exports Oriented Units at the committee room.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), under the guidance of Advisor to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan and the esteemed leadership of FBR Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan, has set a vision generate awareness amongst the exporters regarding the tax relief regimes so as to give a positive impetus to the dwindling exports of Pakistan.

In this backdrop, Member Customs Nasir Masroor Ahmad has instructed all Customs Collectorate to hold seminars, workshops and open house discussions across the country.

The Chief Collector, Enforcement South Karachi asked both the Collectorate of Customs Exports and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim to jointly hold a workshop in the Custom House, Karachi.

The workshop was attended was inaugurated by the Chief Collector Jawed Ghani, followed by a welcome address of Collector PMBQ Exports Ms Samina Wajid, subsequently an extensive presentation was given by Deputy Collector Shiraz Ahmad following by opening the floor for open discussion.

The representative gave valuable advice, suggestions, feedback and input. Their input has been penned down which would be communicated to the Federal Board of Revenue accordingly. The discussion was ended by word of thanks by Collector Karachi Exports Dr Saifuddin Junejo.

The workshop was attended over by 100 participants representing various sectors like textile, leather, steel etc and almost all trade bodies APTMA, PLEGMA, KCCI, FPCCI, PKSWA etc.
