Import of dollar allowed at Lahore Airport

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), through a notification, has allowed import of US dollars against export of permissible foreign currencies from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.

The central bank has already allowed import of the American currency at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The SBP has directed the exchange companies exporting permissible foreign exchange currencies from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar airports may import cash US dollars from, Karachi and Lahore airports.

The SBP said that the procedure defined in the above circular letter for import of cash US dollars from JIAP Karachi would also be applicable for AIIAP, Lahore.

“However, only those incoming flights must be chosen which are scheduled to arrive at AIIAP, Lahore between 16:30 hours to 23:30 hours from Monday to Saturday,” the notification said.
