Excise seizes documents of 284 vehicles on token tax default

LAHORE: The motor branch of the Excise and Taxation Department seized documents of 284 token tax defaulter vehicles during the outgoing week.

Following the directions of Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal, the excise has started special crackdown against token tax defaulters since the start of the year and special teams are working in this regard. The motor branch director has formed ten special teams for the recovery of token tax from defaulters, while Excise and Taxation Officer Qurban Ali Shah is supervising the crackdown.

The teams established checkpoints in different areas of the city including Shahdra, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Barki Road and Ferozepur Road in order to catch the tax defaulter and unregistered vehicles.

Meanwhile, the excise secretary has directed field staff to keep an eye on defaulters and guide them about new token tax system and stickers for their vehicles.
