FBR recovers Rs 3.5 from Punjab Impex’s bank accounts

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-II (RTO-II) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Saturday recovered Rs 3.5 million by attaching bank accounts of Punjab Impex (Private) Limited.

Sources told Customs Today that the company had to pay Rs 8.5 million sales tax for the year 2012. However the company failed to deposit the demanded tax and finally the FBR attached its bank accounts to recover the tax.

Under the supervision of Inland Revenue Additional Commissioner Imtiaz Ahmad, the RTO-II team comprising Inspector Aftab Basra, Mehmoodul Hassan, Chaudhary Naveed and Amjad Sarfraz took actions against the defaulter company.

The FBR authorities recovered the amount by attaching the accounts of the company and its directors named Tahira Abid and Abid Hafeez in Bank Alfalah Gulberg branch, NIB Bank Gulberg Branch and Standard Charted Bank Gulberg Branch.

The sources said that the FBR has served notice on the company to recover outstanding amount.
