Superintendent Danilo P. Macerin, regional director for the CIDG-Davao, said that the week-long antil-illegal drugs operations were launched in line with their Oplan Paglalansag Omega program under the Lambat Sibat campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

“One week ninga drug operations ug naa sa P2.5 milyon tanan ang kantidad sa druga nga atong nasakmit (We have seized some P2.5 million of illegal drugs from our week-long operations),” Macerin told Sun.Star Davao in a phone interview on Sunday.

Macerin said that a total of 26 suspected drug pushers and users were through 23 arrest warrants.

He also added that some of the arrested drug suspects are facing additional charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law in relation to the Omnibus Election Code (OEC) or the Comelec gun-ban.

Thirteen firearms were also seized from their operations, including .38 caliber revolver, .45 caliber pistol, and live ammunition, and three hand grenades.

The last operation was launched by the CIDG-Davao operatives at around 6 a.m., Sunday, on Kilometer 11, Muslim Village in Barangay Sasa.

Six drug suspects were arrested from the operation while an alias Timkang Nakilam managed to evade arrest from the police operatives but several grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” were seized from the latter’s wife who is currently in the custody of CIDG-Davao.

Macerin said they are still conducting surveillance operations on other personalities in the area as well as in other areas who are involved in illegal drug activities.

“Naa pa diha… Padayon pa natong ginamanmanan (We are still conducting surveillance operations on other drug suspects in the area),” he added.

The three suspects are now detained at the Sasa police station while the other three are detained at CIDG-Davao detention cell.

Charges for violation of the RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now be readied against the 26 arrested suspects.
