RTO-III recovers Rs 22m from 3 companies

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-III (RTO-III) has recovered Rs 22.3 million in wake of sales tax from two Mirpur Khas-based factories and one Karachi-based factory.

Officials said that the RTO-III had severed notices on the said factories named Anam Textiles, Firdousi Garments and Khan Chemicals, Karachi on February 27, 2016 to recover the taxes, besides advising them to pay taxes until April 10 to avoid any legal action.

They added that Anam Textile paid Rs 7.6 million, Firdousi Garments Rs 3.05 million and Khan Chemicals deposited Rs 11.61 million while responding to the tax notices.

The officials said that crackdown against the defaulters was in full swing, as notice were being issued after scrutinising the data of the companies those found involved in tax evasion despite having huge incomes. They added that tax defaulters will not be allowed to bring loss to national exchequer.
