Customs Court hears 24 cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 24 important cases on Wednesday and issued necessary orders and directions in number of cases.

On Wednesday, 24 cases of different types were scheduled for hearing, including 3 pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons including Sayed Jahanzaib Bukhari, Ghulam Mustafa and Muhammad Nadeem.

Customs Court also heard a case of tax evasion of Haseeb Waqas Sugar Mills and adjourned the same without any proceeding.  An application moved by Customs Investigation team for search orders in a case against Tahir Bhwarwana was also adjourned for next date.

After hearing arguments of different parties, court issued orders on bail pleas and disposes of a number of pleas while some adjourned for new dates.

Customs Court also adjourned various cases of smuggling. The total cases of such kind were five, which were scheduled for today. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were also scheduled for the day.

The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on four different cases on the day.
