MTBA demands extension for filing of income tax returns until June 30

MULTAN: The Multan Tax Bar Association (MTBA) has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend filing of income tax returns deadline until June 30.

MTBA General Secretary Khadim Maitla told Customs Today that the FBR declared the wealth statement mandatory for the individuals in filing of income tax returns. The board has introduced “IRIS” to facilitate the taxpayers to file the tax returns but the system is full of flaws and wastage of time in filing of the tax returns.

He said that the FBR should take comprehensive measures to remove faults of IRIS that will enable taxpayers to file their tax returns without any hurdle.

Multan Tax Bar Association have also  requested prime minister to review this system by rectifying its faults and MTBA have forwarded circular with suggestions for improvement of this system . They suggested that tax return filing system must be problem free for taxpayers to achieve revenue targets .

MTBA have demanded Federal Board of Revenue to extend the date for filing of income tax returns year 2015 up to 30th June for the collection of maximum tax returns after eliminating flaws from system.
