FBR to start crackdown against schools, parlours involved in tax evasion

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to start a crackdown against those private schools and beauty parlours which are involved in sales tax evasion.

Additional Commissioner Regional Tax Office (RTO-III) Qayyum Khan informed Customs Today that there are credible reports that some private school and beauty parlours are earning in millions but avoiding to pay taxes. He said, “We will take stern action against all these schools and beauty parlours.”

He said that some beauty parlours are earning Rs 100,000 daily but show their less sales in statements to avoid payment of taxes. He said that lists of these schools and parlours have been finalized and the department will start action against them very soon.

He said, “We are also adopting measures to bring all those beauty parlours and schools under tax net which are showing less income but earning in millions.”
