LAREDO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Laredo Port of Entry recently seized alleged liquid methamphetamine valued at $1.1 million.
“Our officers continue to maintain strict vigilance while facilitating the flow of lawful traffic and yet again in furtherance of our border security mission, our frontline CBP officers have seized a significant quantity of liquid methamphetamine,” said Port Director Gregory Alvarez, Laredo Port of Entry.

CBP officers at Laredo Port of Entry seized a total of nearly 81 pounds of liquid methamphetamineThe seizure occurred on March 31 at Gateway to the Americas Bridge. A CBP officer referred a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 24-year-old male U.S. citizen for a secondary inspection. During the examination, CBP officers utilizing canine and non-intrusive imaging system resources seized nearly 81 pounds of alleged liquid methamphetamine hidden within the gas tank. The narcotics have an estimated street value of $1.1 million.
CBP officers turned the driver over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
