LAHORE: The National Accountability court Lahore has extended judicial remand of Hammad Arshad and former project director of DHA Brig (r) Khalid Nazir Butt for another 14 days for their alleged involvement in DHA City scam.
The NAB officials produced the accused before the court under strict security arrangements. The officials said Hammad Arshad and co-accused Khalid Nazir Butt defrauded 26,000 people by collecting more than Rs17 billion in guises of plots.
Accepting the request of NAB investigation team, accountability judge Furqan Babar extended judicial remand of Hammad Arshad and Brig (r) Khalid Nazir Butt for 14 more days.
The officials had told the court that Khalid Butt signed a vague contract with Globaco, the company of prime suspect Hammad Arshad, which was tasked to acquire land for the DHA City, Lahore.
They alleged that Khalid Butt allowed the Globaco to launch the project without acquisition of 10,000 kanals of land and getting the master plan approved from the executive board of DHA.
