IHC bars FBR to recover outstanding tax from M/s Linkdotnet Telecom

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued directives to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to restrain from recovering over Rs 436.7 million outstanding tax from Linkdotnet Telecom (Private) Limited.

The appellant had filed a petition before the court challenging Large Taxpayers’ Unit’s order, dated, December 31, 2015, pledging the recovery of said outstanding amount under the head of different taxes.

Hearing the case, the court also directed the LTU to decide the application filed by appellant within 60 days.  Justice Aamer Farooq of IHC issued these directives.

Meanwhile, the court also directed authorities in LTU,Islamabad to abstain from actions aiming at recovery of aggregated outstanding tax amount.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), LTU’s Chief Commissioner, Commissioner Inland Revenue-Audit,Commissioner Inland Revenue-Appeals  and Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue were made respondent in the case.
