Faisalabad customs seizes non-duty paid LEDs, cloth

FAISALABAD: The Customs intelligence has confiscated smuggled cloth and non-duty-paid LEDs of different models worth Rs 344,000 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs 2,14,566 during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Azmat Tahira received information regarding  smuggled attempts. She formed a team under the supervision of Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO), Naseer Ahmad, Bashir Hussain (IO), Muhammad Khalil, Fakhar Abbas, Shoukat Hayat, Mohiuddin (sepoys ).

The intelligence team intercepted a bus bearing registration No. LET-07-3839, near Kamalpur Interchange Sargodha Road Faisalabad. The conductor, identified as Gul Agha son of Khasta Gul, claimed the ownership of the recovered goods. The Customs team asked him to prove legal import of goods, but he failed.

The Customs team seized the goods forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
