Customs Intelligence impounds 29 luxury vehicles in 9 months

LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized 29 non-duty paid foreign origin luxury vehicles during the first nine months (July-March) of the financial year 2015-16.

According to data, the seized vehicles were valued at Rs 58.40 million involving duty and taxes of Rs 87 million. The vehicles that were seized included BMWs, Land Cruisers, Mark-X, Toyota Corolla and others.

The non-customs paid vehicles were seized from different locations of Lahore which includes Defence, Gulberg,  Ravi Road, Model Town, Iqbal Town and other areas. The vehicles were seized on the information of Director General Imtiaz Ahmad Khan under the supervision of Additional director Usman Bajwa.

Sources said that the vehicles after the forensic test report have been put for auction under Customs Act.
