Excise seals 485 properties due to tax default in Kasur

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 485 properties in different areas of Kasur. The department has also issued notices to the defaulters to pay their property tax with five percent fine.

Official sources told Customs Today that special teams of district Kasur have started crackdown against property tax defaulters in the region.  Sources said that on the special directions of DG Akram Ashraf Gondal, the excise directors of all regions have formed special teams to recover property tax from defaulters.

The teams sealed the properties in different areas of the region, including Kasur, Kundian Kanganpur, Chunian and Lahore Road. Sealed properties including shops, workshops, factories and warehouses. The sealed property owners failed to submit property tax even after receiving many notices.

Now excise department decided to take strict action against these property tax defaulters besides imposing fine on them.
