Customs seizes 3,250 non-duty paid compressors of Beco Steel

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a container of M/s Beco Steel Re-Rolling (Private) Limited Lahore after verification of documents.

Sources informed Customs Today that Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted the container a few days ago on Vehari road. The container were loaded with a huge quantity of used serviceable compressors of refrigerators. The compressors were packed in nylon bags.

The Customs team gave them time to present their original documents for verification of imported goods. Thorough investigation and inspection of the container was done through de-stuffing of the loaded goods. When Customs teams found contradictions in the verification of the documents they decided to seize the container.

There were 3,250 serviceable compressors of the fridges were recovered from the container in the examination of the customs team. The seized goods were worth almost Rs 11.07 million. The total duty taxes of the seized containers were almost Rs 6 million.
