LONDON: U.K. stocks were little changed, subsequent five weeks of increases, as Petrofac (PFC) Ltd’s decide offset London Stock Exchange Group Plc’s advance
Petrofac tumbled 24 percent after saying earnings this year will be at the low end of a $580 million-to-$600 million prior projection. Aviva Plc lost 4 percent after saying it’s in talks to buy Friends Life Group Ltd. for about 5.6 billion pounds ($8.8 billion). Friends Life rallied 6.1 percent. LSE added 2.2 percent after Citigroup Inc. raised its rating on the bourse operator to buy.
The FTSE 100 Index (UKX) climbed 2.65 points, less than 0.1 percent, to 6,753.41 at 9:37 a.m. in London, after earlier rising as much as 0.2 percent. The benchmark gauge increased 1.5 percent last week amid signs that central banks from China to Europe are taking additional stimulus measures. The broader FTSE All-Share Index rose 0.1 percent today, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index gained 0.2 percent.
