IHC summons Customs Appellate Tribunal in tax referene on May 5

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal has received directions from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to appear before the court in a customs reference on May 5, 2016.

The notice issued form the IHC has summoned the tribunal in order to take part in a reference filed by M/s Khyber Tea and Food Company.

The IHC has also summoned the FBR chairman, collector customs,  collector customs (appeals) and assistant collector of customs.

The notices states: “You (the tribunal) are hereby summoned to appear in this court (IHC) in person or by a pleader duly instructed and able to answer all court’s questions relating to the matter on 05/05/2016.”

The notice further cautioned that “in default of your appearance on the day before the court, the case will be heard and determined in your absence.”
