ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Friday informed the Senate that after getting approval from the Cabinet, the Federal Board of Revenue has already started negotiations with Swiss authorities to provide access to accounts of Pakistani nationals.
Giving clarification, the minister said he was the first person in the country’s history who brought summery to the Cabinet in this regard to empower FBR. He said two meetings of FBR officials were held with the Swiss authorities so far adding that he would present full details in this house.
Regarding $ 200 billion of Pakistani nationals accounts in Swiss banks, Dar said he had read about this in the press. “He will assign full job to FBR If he has confirmed information about $ 200 billion of Pakistani nationals in the Swiss banks,” he added.
He said that Pakistan had also acquired membership of a global setup in this regard. The minister also sought the opposition support to join hands with the government in this noble cause.
