Consumption of tomatoes in Pakistani market reaches up to 100 percent increment in Ramadan every year.

It is pertinent to mention here that with increased import of tomatoes in local market its rate has plunged to Rs 40 per kilogram which was at Rs 80 in February and March. It will also increase the revenue of Pakistan customs in the wake of different taxes.

Trade of tomatoes through Wagah was suspended because of poor quality of India vegetables.  Now after the break of few months Pakistan once again has started import of tomatoes.
