Gujranwala Customs Intelligence impounds vehicle of MNA Muhmmad Qaiser

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala, impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Prado of Member National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Qaiser and another vehicle worth Rs 4.3 million.

Reportedly, Customs Intelligence Deputy Director Zainab Mehmood deployed a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Akmal, Intelligence Officer Muhmmad Anwar and Majid Raza on Lahore to Rawalpindi GT Road to detain the non-duty paid vehicles.

The team checked various vehicles and during checking, the officials intercepted a Prado of MNA Muhammad Qaiser bearing Registration No KT-2216 and demanded customs clearance documents but the driver remained failed. Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle worth Rs 3 million.

During another action, the team impounded a vehicle worth Rs 1.3 million on customs duty default. The vehicles have been shifted to the office of the Customs Intelligence, besides serving notice on the accused persons.

Superintendent Muhammad Akmal has intimated drivers that the vehicle will be released if duty/taxe paid within granted time otherwise cases will be sent to the adjudication department.
