LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved three days physical remand of an accused allegedly involved in mobile phones and LED TVs smuggling.
Accused Khuram Shahzad was booked by the Sialkot Customs Intelligence Sialkot after the recovery of mobile phones of assorted brand and LED TVs from his possession worth Rs 3.5 million.
Officials claimed that accused person was a professional smuggler and has a big network in Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Peshawar to safely shift the items from tribal areas to big cities of Punjab.
The Customs Investigation and Prosecution registered a case against him under Section 2 (s), 16, 139, 157(1) and 178 of Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.
The officials produced him before the court of Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan on Monday seeking his judicial remand which was granted by the court.
