Customs Court hears 13 cases including bail pleas on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 13 cases on Wednesday and issued necessary orders, besides sending two suspects on judicial remand.

As per details, 13 cases of different types, including pre-arrest bail pleas filed by Muhammad Usman and Sayed Jahanzaib Bukhari were scheduled for the day, which have been adjourned until the next hearing. The Customs Court also heard a case of smuggling against Mubarak Shah and extended his judicial remand for 14 days.

In another case against Iqbal Dastgir, the court sent the accused to jail on judicial trial. Iqbal was booked by the Customs Intelligence in smuggling of different items from Afghanistan. The court while heainf a cases against Muhmmad Afzal grilled his guarantor.

The Customs Court also recorded statements of witnesses in two different cases of smuggling of narcotics. The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.
