Security tightened in excise offices after Mardan attack

LAHORE: Security has been tightened in all excise offices of Lahore after a suicide attack on excise office in Mardan.

The Excise and Taxation Department has adopted new security measures to make foolproof security arrangements after an attack on excise office of Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The excise offices located at Fareed Kot House, Shadman, and all other regional offices have appointed extra personnel for security.

Earlier, a man was killed and 22 others were injured in a suicide attack on excise and taxation office in Mardan city on Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses and police said the suicide bomber opened fire on security guards, entered the excise office on busy Mall Road in the Cantonment area and blew himself up.
