Faisalabad Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma decides 7 cases in favour of customs

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued Seven Orders-in-Original (ONOs) against the accused parties while settling the cases of non-duty paid goods and vehicles.

The deputy collector heard the one case referred by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Customs Air Freight Unit (AFU), Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Sara-e-Muhajir ASO.

The Customs Intelligence filed a seizure case of 3,960 kilogram of China origin welding rods, which were brought into the country without payment of leviable duty/taxes. The deputy collector announced the verdict in favour of the intelligence.

Furthermore, the four others cases submitted by the AFU regarding the seizure of seven bottles of liquor, while remaining two seizure cases were lodged by the Faisalabad ASO and Sara-e-Muhajir ASO.

The adjudication authority issued ONOs against the accused parties including Abdul Hameed Munshi, Irfan Ijaz, Naeem Shahzad, Rana Danish, Raja Muhammad Zaka, Muhammad Zahid and Muhammad Imran Khan as they could not prove the legal import of the items. The deputy collector also ordered to confiscate the smuggled items.
