MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan has generated Rs 6.970 million through auction of impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
Under the supervision of Deputy Collector Abdul Muaeed Kanjoo, the Multan Customs successfully auctioned six non-customs paid vehicles, including Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Premio, Toyota Fielder and Suzuki Alto. The remaining five vehicles were not auctioned due to low bidding. The majority of the bidders were keenly taking interest in the purchase of vehicles. The six vehicles were sold for Rs 5.6 million.
Multan Customs has also presented new and used tyres, auto parts including clutch plates and brakes of the vehicle in the auction.
Out of 33 various lots only 11 were sold during the proceeds. Due to unavailability of oil companies, furnace oil, diesel and petrol were not auctioned. It may mention here that Pakistan Customs has authorized oil companies for the purchase of petroleum products and similarly only authorized cellular phone companies are allowed to participate in the bid of seized cell phoned.
17 lots of miscellaneous goods and five lots of vehicles were remained unsold during the auction which includes bunker fuel 23,500 litres, three various lots of 81,000 litre of furnace oil, 15,000 litres of diesel 6000 litres of Petrol and cell phones.
