KPT serves show cause notices on 800 employees

KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust has served show cause notices on all the employees who got permanent during the year 2012.

According to the notices, the employees were not recruited on merit whereas they did not meet the educational, experience and age criteria. The notices also say that the Karachi Port Trust had not found any application by the candidates.

Sources in Karachi Port Trust informed Customs Today that 800 employees have been served the show cause notices by the administration. All the temporary employees were made permanent during the tenure of former minister for Ports and Shipping Babur Ghauri.

As per notices served on the employees, for the different posts in the KPT, interviews and medical test were also not conducted. The entire employees were recruited without any advisement of different jobs and not even a request was sent to the prime minister for getting the employees permanent.

The 800 employees of the Karachi Port Trust have been served the show cause notices and are advised to answer within seven days.
