Wildlife team foils attempt to smuggle two urial lambs

LAHORE: A raiding team headed by district wildlife officer Tanvir Janjua, has thwarted an attempt to smuggle two urial lambs and arrested two persons.

According to details, district wildlife squad Jhelum received information that some persons were taking two urial lambs from Jambar Gaal to Jhelum for selling. To which, the officials set up a picket at Nathowala and signaled a pickup to stop. When the vehicle did not stop, they chased it and arrested Asghar Baghri and Javed Iqbal besides recovering two urial lambs.

The accused were produced before the court of senior civil judge Sheikh Anwar. The court imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the driver of the vehicle whereas other accused were sent to jail who will be presented in the court on May 12, 2016.

The accused have confessed that they were going to sell urial lambs in Jhelum.
