Customs Courts seeks challan of suspect involved in Iranian plastic raw material case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has once again directed the Investigation and Prosecution, Lahore to complete a challan against Shaukat Ali, a suspect, in a smuggling of Iranian plastic raw material case.

The Customs Court has adjourned the case until next week. It is pertinent to mention here that Customs Investigation has submitted interim challan against Shauklat Ali.

According to the details, Shaukat Ali was arrested when the Customs Intelligence raided a warehouse in Shahdra, an area near to Lahore.

During the raid, the Customs team found a huge quantity of polyethylene material which was smuggled from Iran. The customs team seized all the smuggled material worth Rs 1.9 million and arrested the owner.

A case was registered against Shaukat Ali under Section 2(s), 16, 156, (1) and 178 of Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.
