Multan Customs probing travel history of cell phones’ smuggler

MULTAN: The customs officials are probing the travel history of an alleged cell phones smuggler, Muhammad Rizwan, in order to trace his network.

Rizwan was nabbed by the customs officials at Rahim Yar Khan International Airport when he was trying to smuggle 341 expensive cell phones into Pakistan. The officials produced him before the Customs Court and took his physical remand for interrogation.

The court approved his remand that is continuing. The accused revealed during interrogation that he had travelled abroad frequently on which the officials initiated inquiry of his travel history.

During investigations, it was found that Rizwan has been travelled from different airports, especially from Karachi, Multan, Islamabad and Rahim Yar Khan.

The accused also revealed that he made attempt to smuggle cell phones into Pakistan through RYK airport after examining the situation of checking, but was arrested by the customs officials.
